A marine-grade finish protects the wood of the wagon, and all screws and bolts are of stainless steel for durability. The rugged steel undercarriage is powder-coated, and the solid rubber tires need no maintenance. A padded collar on the bottom of the handle prevents pinching at the front of the wagon. For sledding, the Grasshopper comes with a custom-molded plastic skid that provides a slippery but stable surface. The skid can be easily removed and replaced with wagon wheels. The Grasshopper wagon meets all USC, ASTM and CE child safety standards. Assembly is easy -- the Grasshopper comes fully assembled as a sled. Converting it to a wagon takes five minutes, and involves removing the screws that attach the plastic skid to the bottom, then attaching the 7 bolts that connect the undercarriage to the wooden top, plus the bolt that attaches the extra-long handle.
